Why we need this

We swap to save on fees. But someone always has to go first.

The fake screenshot

A doctored proof of payment arrives. You send your EcoCash. The rupees never existed.

The vanishing act

You pay first, as agreed. The other person receives it, goes quiet and blocks your number.

The impostor

Someone pretends to be a trusted member of the group, collects payments and disappears.

How a swap works

One swap, start to finish

Every swap is started by a member in Mauritius. Family at home never log in.

  1. 1In Mauritius · on the appRudo posts an offerUS$100 for Rs 4,600, at a rate she sets. The app shows her the community EcoCash line.
  2. 2In ZimbabweHer brother sends US$100From his registered number to the community line. It is locked for Rudo.
  3. 3In MauritiusTendai takes the offer and paysRs 4,600 bank to bank, then he uploads his proof.
  4. 4In MauritiusRudo checks her bankOnce the rupees are really there, she releases with her PIN.
  5. 5In ZimbabweTendai's mum gets US$100Straight from the safe box to her EcoCash.

Rates are agreed between members. Rs 46 to US$1 is an example only.

Why it's safe

Built to stop the scams we already know

Money is locked first

The EcoCash is in the safe box before anyone pays a single rupee.

Only verified members

ID and permit checked, approved by the committee. Family at home registered by name.

Bank, not screenshots

Money is released only when the seller sees it in their own bank.

Never stuck in the middle

If nobody takes an offer within a few hours, the money goes back automatically.

Fair disputes

Two committee members who are not involved review the evidence and decide.

Every swap on record

Ratings and history show who is reliable. Proven fraudsters are removed for good.

The golden ruleYour bank balance is the only proof that counts.
